Coleen Foley of Danby, New York, is the artist behind Replica, Photos by Coleen Foley. She focuses on the atmospheric tension found within the contrasting light of severe weather or dramatic skies. Since 2020, her work has evolved into a study of the sky’s most transient, cinematic moments—from the bruised, heavy light of a developing supercell to the delicate, sculptural textures of a golden hour storm.

Her approach is defined by a moody, minimalist aesthetic and a reliance on natural light. By stripping away visual noise, she frames the raw architecture of the environment, whether capturing the immense scale of a storm chase or the quiet cool fog after a passing storm.
