Shima Fard: Beautifully Strange

Shima Fard is an Iranian-born multidisciplinary artist based in Ithaca, New York, with over 15 years of experience in fine art and creative expression.

Her work explores the fascinating space between beauty, imagination, and the unexpected. Through surreal imagery, expressive characters, bold colors, and unconventional compositions, she creates a world where reality meets fantasy.

As an immigrant woman and artist, Shima’s creative journey has been deeply influenced by her experiences, independence, and passion for freedom. For her, art is more than visual beauty; it is a powerful form of self-expression, individuality, and storytelling.

Her exhibition, Beautifully Strange, celebrates the extraordinary within the ordinary, challenging traditional ideas of beauty and inviting viewers to embrace the unusual.

Through each piece, Shima encourages audiences to look beyond appearances, discover unexpected emotions, and find beauty in being different.
